Why I created LLT

Over time, I saw that many language learners were motivated and capable, but often lacked structure. They were studying hard, collecting resources, and trying many different methods, yet still felt unsure about what to do next or how to turn effort into real progress.

Language Learner Toolbox grew out of a desire to give learners practical support they could actually use: tools that encourage consistency, build confidence, and make speaking practice feel more meaningful and manageable.

I'm Judy James, a TESOL educator and co-author of The Language Learner's Workbook: A Guide for Conversation Practice. My work has centered on helping language learners grow in confidence, build communication skills, and use practical strategies that support real progress over time.
